I Am Bigger Than You!

...Says one growing medium to the other.

This week I took a comparative look at the Tower Garden plants vs. the Conventional Gardening plants.  Both were introduced at the same time, both get the same amount of sun and both get watered regularly throughout the day.  We went and bought top of the line organic amendments for our soil and this is what we have this morning.
4 weeks from placing in Tower Garden

4 weeks from placing in soil garden (started seeds indoors, just like Tower Garden, until we had little seedlings)

The onions, which we can't plant in the Tower garden because they are root vegetables, are doing very well!

As you can see, the plants are flourishing much better in the aeroponic environment vs the traditional soil.

Tower garden Zucchini

Traditionally grown Zucchini

The stems are thicker, the plants have much more growth and the leaves are more green with the Tower Garden group.

Tower garden Broccoli

Traditionally grown Broccoli

We are noticing the same differences with the broccoli, cauliflower and tomatoes.

We have one little spot left in our Tower Garden that is yet to be filled, but it is fun to look in there and see the long roots from all of these plants flowing down the middle column of this structure and getting nutrients rained on them every 15 minutes.  Everyday the tower looks different!  It is so much more cost effective and fun than we have found soil gardening to be.  Brian recommended that we get a new Tower every year until we don't have to go to the store for produce ever again and filling our two raised beds with raspberry and blueberry bushes.  We will see what the harvest this year yields, but it may be an option for next year!

(If you are interested in a Tower Garden, you can visit this link, or contact me on this site or through Facebook and I would be happy to get you set up with one of your own!)

I couldn't access the link, but would love to get info. on where you purchased your tower garden. We have always planted using the traditional methods, and although we usually get a pretty good yield, we'd love to experiment with something new.

They are so fun and the kids get such a kick out of the entire thing. I can actually get you one! In part of my spreading wellness around the world focus I am trying to get as many fruits, berries and veggies into people that I can because that is where our health is optimum. As you know, kids are much more apt to eat something they had a part in growing. Contact me on facebook and we can get you started!!!
